Our learning last half term was Volcanoes, Dinosaurs and Animals.
This half term started with learning about Volcanoes. Children explored the differences between active and dormant, volcanoes around the world and performed science experiments involving baking soda and vinegar.
The children have spent time this half term learning about dinosaurs, when they lived, where they lived and what happened to them. We also discussed different animal species, what they eat, how and why they hunt and the climate in which they live.
We also read the story of Handa who was visiting her friend with fresh fruit. The children tried a range of fruit and took an active role in peeling, grating, cutting, and dicing the selection of fruit.
Reception class have been working hard this half term to read and write in full sentences. We have also been learning about patterns in numbers including learning a doubles rap.
