Year 4

Last half term, we learnt all about the Vikings!

We learned about the Vikings’ first arrival on Lindisfarne and about the power struggles between these warriors and the Anglo-Saxons. We investigated whether the Vikings really were that vicious by looking at how they lived, their religious beliefs, and their attitudes to crime and punishment. At the end of the half term, we took our learning outside and held a Viking ‘Thing’!

In science, we learned about sound. In science, we learned about states of matter.

We looked at how sound is linked to vibrations, and learned about volume and pitch. We made the most of the sunshine and took our learning outside to experiment with distance. We worked in partners to investigate the impact of distance on a soundwave.

We enjoyed a combined Break the Rules and Five Ways to Wellbeing Day.

Dressed in our fabulous ‘Break the Rules’ attire, we embraced the great outdoors to keep active and creative. We played traditional games like What’s the Time, Mr Wolf? and spent time drawing nature. It was a fantastic day to round off our penultimate half term!
